1. Create a Moving Binder for Files

All of your documents, whether legal or not, receipts for relocation costs, rental van receipts and agreements, power of attorney, passports, etc. go into your moving binder. In this binder, make sure you keep a copy of the timeline of your move, houses to view, budget and other important paperwork including a ‘Moving Checklist.’ It’s imperative to have a quick reference to all moving documents at one place before you move. Additionally, it also saves time as you won’t have to go around looking for documents when you need them.

2. Notify your Network and Schedule Good-Byes

Credit card holders, educational systems, postal services, bank accounts, club memberships, and family and friends, all need to be updated on your contact information changes. You’d want to plan your going away parties and any other social events to affirm your current network and relationships as it could become very challenging to fit to your schedule later.
